Wakakirri
The Wakakirri Story-Dance Festival is a national program that helps schools develop student engagement and wellbeing through participation in the performing arts. Morphett Vale Primary School stories are inspired by the Wakakirri ethos ‘great stories inspire change’. Environmental, social, cultural, health, historical & reconciliation stories are all popular themes.

SAPSASA & Sports Carnivals
MVPS is proud of a long standing participation in both SAPSASA and State Wide School Sporting Carnivals. Annually, students have the opportunity to participate in Cross Country (Long Distance Running) and Track and Field (Athletics) SAPSASA Competitions, within the Onkaparinga North District. The community has a rich passion for Soccer, Netball and Basketball in which students compete annually in the State Wide Schools, Small Schools Competition.

Write a Book in a Day
Australia’s most inspiring writing competition.
Write a Book in a Day is the ultimate test of teamwork, challenging writers to create something great within a 12-hour time period. Prizes and awards are up for grabs for state and national winners, while there is also a need to fundraise in the lead-up for childhood cancer research.
Teams of 5-10 participants choose any day between 1 May and 30 September to write and illustrate an entire book. Each team will be given unique parameters for their story for their chosen writing day, ensuring that no one gets a head start!
Every book submitted will also be made available for free to kids in hospitals around Australia, potentially changing a child’s day in hospital, while funds raised will work to get them out of hospital and back in the classroom sooner.

Children's University
Morphett Vale Primary School is part of Children’s University Australasia. Children’s University provides extra curricula learning opportunities to children, aiming to engage children in learning in its broadest sense whilst developing confidence and aspiration. In November each year students graduate at a special ceremony at Bonython Hall at the Adelaide University.
